There will be times we lose patience with our children, times either they will retreat sullenly into their rooms or that we will cut them off.

Let there also be times we look into their hearts, times we come out of ourselves to empathize with them, times of communion that reinforce the bond between us. It is out of these times that our child will know the love and acceptance that they will carry with them through life.

Call to Action: On this day, I will take five minutes to consider whether I am listening carefully enough to my child and expressing the love I feel for her. If not, I pledge to do so.
