READING

It often requires more courage to read some books than it does to fight a battle.

Sutton E. Griggs

How many of us would say we make adequate time for reading in our lives? Reading can help us clarify our confusion and enhance our perspective. Books and newspapers show us other worlds, other experiences, and unlike television, allow us the time and the silence to absorb and to question. We may not agree with what a writer is saying, but even then we’ve learned something about ourselves or discovered how to articulate our own thoughts.

Call to Action:  On this day, I will make time to read a chapter of a fiction or nonfiction book, or a selection of poetry.
