SAVING MONEY
Save money and money will save you.
—Jamaican Proverb
Everywhere we look, we are admonished to spend, spend, spend!
Living beyond our means can become a very bad habit. It can really demoralize us when it keeps us from taking the steps mature adults ought to be able to manage—finding a secure and pleasant living environment for our children, saving for college and old age, being properly insured.
Let’s learn how to handle our money wisely. Even if we can manage to save only a few dollars each week (or month), it’s a step in the right direction. Perhaps we can plunge into the task of unloading our debt if we apply our creativity and our energy.
Call to Action: On this day, I will take at least one step to bettering my financial situation. I might take a book on money management out of the library, create a household budget, or look into ways to augment my income.
