GOD

People see God every day; they just don’t recognize Him.

—Pearl Bailey

How we see God affects the way we live our lives. If God is the angry power who censures and punishes us, we probably live with fear and anxiety. We may toe the line and be resentful, or cross the line to spite a God we consider cruel and unjust. Not a pleasant way to spend our time on earth. If, however, we recognize that God is in all of us, then we can start to treat ourselves and our brothers and sisters with respect.

Many walk among us who are out of touch with their spiritual selves, who would be baffled by such a notion as God within us. Can life then have much value? We are quick to spot the devil in us, why not the divine? It is the light within that can light our lives and light our way.

Call to Action: On this day, I will take five quiet minutes to recognize the divine in me, and to remember that through me the divine manifests itself in the world.
