POSITIVE THINKING

To be a great champion you must believe you are the best. If you’re not, pretend you are.

—Muhammad Ali

Pretending we are successful at what we do conditions us for becoming successful. When we adopt the mind-set of the champion, and follow through with action, we are well on our way.

Years ago, a friend of mine lost a noticeable amount of weight and looked great. When I asked how he did it, he replied, “I think thin.†By acting like a thin person, he ate more judiciously and began to exercise. He shed the pounds and remains trim today.

Acting the part can persuade you, in time, that you are the part, even before you really are. We all fail once in a while; it’s part of life, which is not always within our control. When we see ourselves as winners, though, we accept our failures and move on.

On this day, I will take five minutes and visualize that I have what I want to have or am what I want to be.
