SELF-DETERMINATION
Remember, I wasn’t supposed to last. I wasn’t supposed to be here ten years later, because I was just supposed to be a flash in the pan.
Remember, too, people will always make judgments about us. They’ll want to limit our rise or our staying power. Often they do this in silence. But we will get the idea, if we are alert. We will know if they do not intend to promote us or even listen to us. When we know our strengths and have nurtured a solid belief in ourselves, we will find ways to deal with the limitations others will try to impose upon us.
Call to Action: On this day, I will take five minutes to talk to my child about the importance of not being daunted by others’ opinions, which have no bearing on our talent or our drive.
